Event Details:Half day seminar in support of developing practical action to track the implementation of an Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries (EAF) in South Africa

WWF South Africa, the Responsible Fisheries Alliance & UCT’s South African Research Chair in Marine Ecology and Fisheries would like to invite all interested parties to join a half day seminar in support of developing practical action to track the implementation of an Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries (EAF) in South Africa.

Given South Africa’s commitments at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002 to implement an EAF in all of our fisheries by 2010, it is timely to review what has been achieved in this regard and what the outstanding challenges are. The seminar will provide feedback on the practical implementation of EAF actions in South African marine ecosystems developed through a collaborative stakeholder workshop.  The seminar also offers the opportunity for the wider EAF and fisheries community to engage in discussion on these actions.

The Agenda can be found here.

Your participation in this seminar will be highly valuable. Please RSVP to attend by Monday 17 August 2015.
