What is the Indibano?

The indibano is a meeting for GSN members that happens once a year where students get to network amongst themselves and researchers and get taught valuable skills for their studies.

Students present their own work in a conference-style presentation.
There are training workshops too, where you can learn valuable skills for your studies.
There will also be plenary talks and interaction times with leading researchers in a wide diversity of fields
And a number of exciting outings to see beautiful natural sites, including the Addo Elephant National Park, and to learn about long term environmental observation.
The theme of this years Indibano is Interdisciplinary Research in Long Term Environmental Observation.

When is the Indibano?

This year the Indibano will be hosted from Sunday 30 October until Thursday 3 November, providing 4 nights and 5 days of exciting GSN activities. (For most selected attendees travel will take place on Sunday morning and Thursday afternoon.)

Where is the Indibano?

This year the Indibano will be held near Addo in the Eastern Cape in a gorgeous rural location. Accommodation and meals are provided at a lovely venue situated in an ideal location.
This location allows us to easily visit locations like the Addo Elephant National Park and it is conveniently situated within a reasonable vicinity to three major Universities – Rhodes, NMMU and Fort Hare.
It also happens to be located to the SAEON Elwandle Node in Grahamstown.

Good luck with your submissions!
We look forward to meeting some of you
