Opportunity for students for a historic short trip on the SA Agulhas from Durban to Cape Town

11 Oct 2011 - 12:45

ACCESS and the Department of Environment Affairs are offering a unique opportunity for students to participate in the final leg of the final cruise of the SA Agulhas as part of pre-COP17 events.  This leg of the cruise will involve some training and demonstrations of science at sea!

ACCESS will transport you to meet the vessel in Durban, and/or return you home from Cape Town. You will need to be in possession of a ID book or passport and be available from early on Thursday 17th November until late on Tuesday 21st of November. The event will commence with an event in Durban before departure for Cape Town in the afternoon.

We are making this opportunity available to 6 High School students and 7 undergraduates and 7 honours/post-graduate students. We will select eligible students for this on a first-come-first-served basis with a filter for geographical distribution!

If you are available and eligible and think you have your sea legs, please email Neville Sweijd (nsweijd@access.ac.za) within the next 48 hours!

My meaningful quote: Please put a signature with your telephone number on all emails!
