The list below is a selection of accommodation options that is not exhaustive. We simply suggest you start looking here, especially if you are not familiar with UCT and the surrounding areas.

All Africa House - UCT (Middle Campus)

Limited accommodation available: 4 Single rooms and 4 En-Suite rooms have been reserved for conference attendees, price ranges from R480 – R640 per person per night (2nd person at a reduced rate).

Southern Sun - Newlands

Limited rooms available at discounted rate:

R1695 per single room per night, breakfast included.

Little Scotia Guest House (3 star) – Rondebosch  

Little Scotia is in Rondebosch Cape Town. This is conveniently located within walking distance of UCT's middle and upper campus. It is a mere 10 minute drive to Cape Town CBD and the popular V&A waterfront.

Rates:

Single:             R815,00 breakfast included
Double :          R1050,00 breakfast included (R525pppn)

Knightsbury Luxury Guesthouse (4 star) – Rondebosch 

The Guesthouse is 60 meters from UCT middle campus

Rates:

Single: R745-R800 per room per night

Double: R1045 per room per night

 

Travel Information

Uber Taxi 

If you have a smartphone, you can install the Uber app (iOS App or Android App) and use the popular Uber taxi system. Once the app is installed on your phone and you have created an account and linked it to you credit card (no cash involved), you can sign in on your phone as soon as you land and request a taxi. The taxi will then take you to your destination and a trip from Cape Town International Airport to Rondebosch shouldn’t cost you more than R200.

 

Cape Town Shuttles  or

Airport Shuttle Cape Town 

Point-to-point shuttle services and airport transfers.

Price: R250 to Rondebosch

 

MyCiti Airport Shuttle bus

The MyCiti bus is the cheapest option for getting into the city and the fastest if it is peak traffic. This shuttle service runs between the airport and Cape Town city centre. However, alternative transport would then be required if not staying in the city centre.

Prices:
Tickets are on sale at the ticket kiosks in both the Civic Centre CBD and airport bus stations and cost under R100 for the airport route.

Car Rental facilities  

There are a number of car rental agencies operating at Cape Town International Airport. 

The car rental facilities are situated in front of the Public Transport Plaza and Central Terminal Building.  Access to the facility is gained from two pedestrian subways that are placed on either side of the terminal building.

Metered Taxis

This option will take you directly to your destination, but could cost anywhere between R200-R400.
